The Installation
BMW X5 (2017) – Android Auto Retrofit to Original Display
Pro Locks UK completed an Android Auto upgrade on this 2017 BMW X5, bringing modern smartphone connectivity to the vehicle's existing factory infotainment display.
The customer wanted access to Android Auto without replacing the original BMW screen or changing the dashboard's factory appearance.
We installed an aftermarket multimedia integration module, allowing the driver to switch between the original BMW iDrive interface and the new Android Auto system.
The upgrade provides:
- Android Auto integration through the factory BMW display - Google Maps navigation with live traffic information - Access to music streaming and compatible smartphone applications - Phone and messaging functionality through compatible apps - Original BMW iDrive interface retained - Clean installation without replacing the factory screen
